Search Engine Optimization.

Ranking for a term nobody buys from is a vanity exercise with a longer payback period. The useful question is which searches carry intent, whether your site can currently be found and understood for them, and what is standing in the way.

Technical foundations come first, because content published onto a site search engines struggle with is content that will not earn anything. Then the pages that answer what people are actually typing.

What has changed is where the answer appears. More searches now get resolved on the results page itself or inside an assistant, with nobody clicking through to anyone. That does not make search worth less, but it does change what winning looks like: being the source that gets quoted, and not only the link that sits in position one.

Talk to us about this

What it includes.

Technical Audits
Crawlability, indexation, site speed, structured data, and the internal linking that decides which of your pages search engines think matter.
Content Strategy
Built around search intent rather than keyword volume. What the searcher is trying to decide, and the page that helps them decide it.
Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)
Search results increasingly answer the question on the page instead of sending anyone to yours. AEO is about being the source that gets used: the question answered plainly and early, a structure a machine can lift a passage out of, and the schema that tells it what it is reading. It is what wins featured snippets, People Also Ask, and the answers that voice assistants read out.
Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)
ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot, and Google's AI Overviews summarize rather than list, so inclusion depends on being quotable and being cited elsewhere more than on ranking position. This part of search is young and the mechanics are still moving, which we would rather tell you than pretend a formula exists. What demonstrably helps is being specific, being consistent about the facts of your business wherever they appear, and being mentioned in the sources these systems read.
Local SEO
For businesses where the customer has to be nearby, and where the map pack sits above every organic result on the page. Business profile and categories, reviews and the responses to them, consistent details across the directories that get cross checked, and location pages that are about the places you actually serve rather than the same page with the town name swapped.
Digital PR
Earning mentions and links from places worth being mentioned in, rather than buying them from places that will eventually cost you. It carries more weight now that answer and generative engines lean on who else is talking about you.
